Sainte Maxime is a very pretty village often overshadowed
by its famous neighbour Saint Tropez. South facing, it has
wonderful beaches like La Nartelle which are less crowded and offer
every type of water sport: water skiing, para gliding,
dough-nutting, water boarding and fishing and more. The village has
some delightful pedestrian precincts with shops selling local
produce: from ceramics and glass to olive oil and local rose wine,
as well as some surprisingly good whites and reds. Just outside the
town is Beauvallon, a peaceful residential area dotted with
fabulous private villas overlooking the Bay of Saint Tropez and
Saint Tropez village itself and some world class golf courses. And
when you want to dip into the social scene and nightlife across the
water, there's a ferry which leaves every 15 minutes and runs until
3am - a much quicker alternative to driving around the bay and you
don't have to worry about driving home.
